How to add and remove RSS Feeds in Outlook?

Subscribing a RSS Feed enables you to get all summaries of updated news of favorite web sites in Microsoft Outlook automatically. Therefore, you can get the updated news’ summaries with email messages without opening those web pages any longer. And here we will introduce you to subscribe and remove RSS Feeds in Microsoft Outlook, and turn on or off RSS Feeds in Microsoft Outlook as well.

Add RSS Feeds in Outlook 2007, 2010, and 2013

To subscribe the RSS Feeds and get summaries of updated news, please do it with following steps:

Step 1: Shift to the Mail view with clicking the Mail in the Navigation pane.

Step 2: Right click the RSS Feeds in the Navigation Pane, and then click the Add a New RSS Feed in the right-click menu.

Step 2: In the New RSS Feed dialog box, enter the address of RSS Feed in the blank box.

Step 3: In the new popping up dialog box, click Yes button, if you do not need to configure the RSS Feed options.

It is optional to click the Advanced button if you need to configure some options for this new added RSS Feed, such as Feed name, delivery folder, update limitation, and so on.

If you do not want to subscribe the RSS Feeds, and get any update summaries any longer, you can remove the RSS Feeds from Microsoft Outlook.

Step 1: Shift to the Mail view with clicking the Mail in the Navigation pane.

Step 2: Right click the RSS Feeds folder you will remove from the Navigation Pane, and then click the Delete Folder in the right-click menu.

Note: In Outlook 2007, the Delete Folder shows as Delete “your folder name”. For example, your RSS Feed folder is named as BBC News – Technology, and you will get the Delete “BBC News – Technology” in the right-click menu.

You may need to stop receiving updates news summaries, but not delete the RSS Feeds folder, so you can turn off the RSS Feeds in Microsoft Outlook.

You can follow these steps to turn on or off the RSS Feeds in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013.

Step 1: Click the File > Options.

Step 2: In the Outlook Options dialog box, click the Advanced in the left bar.

Step 3: Go to the RSS Feeds section:

To turn off the RSS Feeds, please uncheck the Any RSS Feed item that is updated appears as new option, and uncheck the Synchronize RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List (CFL) in Windows Option.

To turn on the RSS Feeds, please check the both options.

Step 4: Click OK.

If you need to turn on or off the RSS Feeds in Microsoft Outlook 2007, please do it as following:

Step 1: Click the Tools > Options.

Step 2: In the Options dialog box, click the Advanced Options button on the Other tab.

Step 3: In the Advanced Options dialog box,

To turn off the RSS Feeds, please uncheck the Sync RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List option, and uncheck the Any RSS Feed item that is updated appears as a new item option.

To turn on the RSS Feeds, please check both options.

Step 4: Click the OK buttons in each dialog boxes.
